Travel Diaries: Portland

Hello Portlandia! Portland has become a West coast hotspot for tourists (or #hipsters) From gorgeous parks and hikes to delicious craft beer, Portland is sure a great city to visit. I didn’t have too much time there so my boyfriend’s family took me around. Here is my guide to a quick day in Portland.

Shop:

The public market! If you have been to Pike’s Place in Seattle, then you will sure love this. Portland artists showcase their crafts for purchase. I scored on some cute clothes and handmade jewelry.

Dine:

Some of the best brunch I’ve ever had was at Mother’s Bar & Bistro.  It was one of America’s Top Restaurant Bargains by Food and Wine Magazine. Definitely get there early or make a reservation because this place is packed daily because it is so good! From the charming decor of chandeliers and mirrors to refreshing mimosas, this brunch spot is a must.

Mike’s Special Scramble
eggs scrambled with, prosciutto ham, roasted garlic, fresh tomatoes, basil & provolone cheese

Fresh squeezed OJ & a dash of strawberry syrup

Visit:

You could spend an entire day at The Portland Japanese Garden. The luscious and green gardens span 12 acres and features eight separate garden styles. There is a quaint cafe that serves authentic green tea so make sure to make a reservation for that.
