Lifestyle: Palm Springs Tour & Style Guide

I’ve grown up going Palm Springs for as long as I can remember. My grandparents moved there in the 1960’s from San Diego. They would live part time in the desert and part time in the summer in San Diego. I grew up visiting them and the rest of my family for spring break and holidays. Now as an adult, Palm Springs has become a destination for an adult play ground. I’ve done posts at the my grandparent’s house before for my Coachella guide and got inspired to write a post of what to wear when you visit Palm Springs with your boyfriend or with you best girl friends.  Palm Springs is more than just retired folk and Coachella goers, it is filled with relaxing pools, shopping, dining, hiking and more. Along with chic & sun friendly outfits, I’ll share my favorite things to do in Palm Springs.

Where to stay ….

Palm Springs Air B & B

If you are looking for a bigger space for you and your girls, Air B & B is the way to go. You can often find affordable charming homes to stay in for the weekend or just for the night. I recommend planning ahead and reserving your spot as this is the most popular time for tourists in Palm Springs. If you’re going with your significant other, a house is fun to make it a home away from home. 🙂

Boutique Hotels: ACE Hotel

Palm Springs is filled with boutique hotels located near Downtown Palm Springs. Definitely one of the more popular on is the ACE Hotel. This hipster hotel is part of the series of ACE Hotels internationally that offers a dinner style restaurant, spa services and a pool where epic pool parties are thrown during festival season. Again, this hotel is hopping so make sure to reserve early. I came here for a quick farewell cocktail and Desert Gold pool party with my girlfriends.

Where to dine…

Blue Coyote Grill:  I love Blue Coyote Grill for their Skinny Margaritas and enchiladas.

Tyler’s Burgers:  Converted from an old bus station Tyler’s serves up gourmet sliders. They are only open for lunch.

Fisherman’s Market & GrillFisherman’s Market & Grill is voted the number 1 seafood restaurants in Palm Springs.

Azul Tapas Lounge and Patio: This LGBT bar that has live music and dancing, a Bloody Mary Bar and a killer happy hour!

The Moxie: This rooftop bar has happy hour until 7pm and  bar games to play like cards and giant Jena along with weekly live bands.

What to do….

Tahquitz Hike

Palm Springs natural beauty is sure to be appreciated. There are several hikes throughout the community. My girlfriends and I went to the Tahquitz Trail, two mile loop trail which leads to Tahquitz Falls and back. Make sure to get there early when it opens to beat the heat!

Downtown Palm Springs

For dining, shopping, casinos and more Downtown Palm Springs is the place to be! If you are artsy (or even a collector) Palm Springs has a strong art community. The Palm Springs Art Museum has unique exhibits and cultural events weekly. Browse the boutiques and art galleries with a cup of Kofi in hand.
