Just when you thought festival season was over…America’s finest city has to end it right! Welcome KAABOO! KAABOO isn’t just your typical music festival with all time rockers and indie folks. 1. It’s in sunny San Diego right in the heart of Del Mar (because Del Mar isn’t cool enough?) 2. It has gourmet food from some of San Diego’s top restaurants including a Chef competition. Oh and don’t forget to get refreshed with local craft breweries. #nomnomnom 3. If you need a break from rocking out, you literally can LOL or LMAO at crop of world famous comedians. Just plan our your schedule accordingly. 4. Along with dancing and laughing, you can get artsy. Enjoy a variety of artwork from murals to arts & crafts. Let your imagination wonder through numerous art installations.
So with the Del Mar Fairgrounds turning into an adventure land, how does one dress for such an event? It isn’t Coachella where you’ll melt ( hopefully we will be back to San Diego’s normal weather of a nice 70 degrees with a slight ocean breeze) or Outside Lands in the city with unpredictable weather. My style is more polished and sophisticated with a beachy vibe. But for KAABOO I’m switching it up! Most items from H & M. Here are my picks for San Diego’s newest entertainment venture.
Indie-Rocker- Friday’s night headliners are Orange County’s No Doubt. I’m not doing crop tops and bright red lips like Gwen Stafani but I’m doing a crop with studs and cut up back. Because I’ll be coming from work (like most San Diegans…we’re already used to the Del Mar traffic!) I’m throwing on holy jeans to match my teared crop. Keeping the hair and make up simple with purple lips (it’s finally fall so dark colors are acceptable) and a high pony. I’m excited to see my faves Fitz and the Trantrums and Foster the People.
SoCal chic- Saturday and Sunday are going to be fundays this weekend. Wearing jean shorts and a white lace crop with girly flip-flops or the typical SoCal country girl for Zac Brown band. Heart-shaped sunglasses are my go to for an accessory and wearing my hair back in braids.
Hipster- For the alternative and funk bands I’ve gone hipster. Yet, another crop top (black & white strips) with a pop-of-color blue shorts topped off with a floppy hat. Going to relax in the sun to O.A.R. and finish the night off with The Killers.
