Now that summer is in full swing, it is vacation time! One of my favorite things to do and have an immense passion for is traveling. A goal of mine is to become a professional travel blogger. With Favoroute, I have become one! As a born and raised San Diegan, I have created my own travel guide for sunny San Diego. My guide was published on Favoroute this year. What is Favoroute?
Favoroute is the online platform for travel guides. Just like with Natalie, we work with local writers, journalists and travel bloggers from all over the world, who share their personal hidden gems of the city in their travel guides. From luxury travel to backpacking, from family travel to surfing – all guidebooks have their own character and are written by an expert writer. The guidebooks are available via the Favoroute app (Android and iOS), and can be downloaded to use offline as well.
What inspired Favoroute? How can you use it?
Favoroute was founded four years ago and was inspired by the idea that there are so many people who know good places in the world, but there wasn’t a good platform to share these on. At the moment there are several platforms to share your tips on as a traveler, but we still believe technology can be improved for the way people travel even more! Why is everyone still carrying around a heavy printed travel guide? We want to improve the new way of traveling by making a guidebook that can be easily used on your smartphone and tablet. And for the tips…Well, who has better insider tips than locals, journalists and travel bloggers? In the Favoroute travel guides these insiders share their personally selected accommodations, maps, where-to-go lists, and hidden gems. So every traveler can go on vacation with a peaceful mind. We all know something, so let’s guide each other along the route!
How is Favoroute different than any other travel sites?
We are a platform for both travel writers and travelers. Our community of Travel Designers write their guidebooks via the Favoroute CMS and publish them via the app to be sold. This allows us to work with travel writers from all over the world, sharing their best tips in their guidebooks – and making it profitable for them too. A win-win for everyone, since both traveler and travel writer profit from having high quality and updated content on any destination!
