Travel Diaries: Sleepless in Seattle

It sure has been a busy year of travel for me (so many weddings!) One of my most favorite trips thus far as 2016 is ending was the lovely opportunity to help organize a bachelorette party in Seattle, WA. Having been in the wedding industry and been a Maid of Honor & a bridesmaid before, I loved the idea of having a “bachelorette getaway”. Planning a trip can be difficult if you don’t know where to stay or what to do, especially a bachelorette party! I worked with the MOH on planning the perfect trip! Read below on how to throw a bachelorette trip to Seattle!

Where to stay

Hotels are always nice to stay in but can get expensive! We decided to rent cottage nearby the main part of the city in Greenlake. Check Air B & B Seattle for great prices and cute places to stay.  It was a quaint cottage painted in purple and green that had plenty of room for our group of 4. The MOH is very crafty and made all the decorations herself including our adorable and trendy bridal party gear: flower crowns, crystal necklaces and tank tops. We made Margarita’s & Bloody-Mary’s in dispensers so girls could keep pouring their drinks. The first night we just settled in, gave the bride gifts and played bachelorette games.

Brunch: The Space Needle

The bride loves brunch (especially Bloody Mary’s!) Our brunch was a 2 in 1 event! We had a 3 course brunch a the Space Needle. After a delicious brunch of Bloody Mary’s, blueberry pancakes and Egg’s Benedict, we went to the top level observatory and took in the stunning Seattle city views.

Pikes Place

After brunch, we headed to Pike’s Place for some shopping. Pikes Place is an awesome public market for fresh food and hand-crafted gifts created by locals. We loved walking through the many rows of eclectic items. Our favorite part was all of the flowers! The bride snagged a bouquet to take home with her.

Corks & Canvas Paint Afternoon

Since we stayed at an adorable cottage we wanted to make the most of our time and space there. We had Corks and Canvas Events come to the house to show us how to paint! We got artsy all afternoon and completed a painting of the forest. The painting was very fitting since the bride-to-be is getting married in the forest in Oregon.

Dinner:  Itto’s Tapas

We started the night off for dinner at Itto’s Tapas, a fusion of Moroccan and Spanish food in West Seattle. The restaurant is small and dark which creates an intimate atmosphere for a ladies night out. The tapas were filling and delicious. We Dolmes, an old favorite, with goat cheese and roasted red bell pepper, Maakooda, Moroccan spiced potato cake dressed in harissa aioli lemon garlic aioli and ,absolutely to die for, the Stuffed Dates  wrapped in Eggplant-bacon and herbed goat cheese.

Nightlife

Cowgirls Inc.

Giddy up! The Cowgirls at  Inc will get rowdy with your bachelorette! This country bar is like a scene straight out of Coyote Ugly. The bartenders rock ass-less chaps swing and dance on on the bar as you order. There is even a mechanical bull to ride, if  you dare!

Aston Manor

Located in a giant warehouse and decked out to look like a 1920’s speakeasy, Aston Manor brings you back to the Prohibition era. Dance the night away to hip-hop and top-40 hits. This club has several rooms and tables for bottle service. Make sure to take a picture in their vintage bath tub!
