I recently returned from my first trip of 2021…on the anniversary that the world officially entered a pandemic. The trip was both for relaxation vacation time but also to connect and see family my husband and I hadn’t seen in a year. Which is the case for most families this past year. We decided to drive to really be able to explore Oregon, take our puppy, and for COVID-19 safety reasons. We were able to successfully enjoy our family time and went to the Oregon Coast and Oregon wine country.
Read my highlights below!
Oregon Coast-Newport & Depoe Bay
Stay
Lincoln Beach Bella Beach Cottage
Charming beach cottages walking distance to the beach.
Quaint Inn that looks over the ocean.
Dine
Wonderful ambiance and seafood cuisine! Enjoyed the calamari, clam chowder, and seafood Mac n Cheese while watching the waves crash and sunset.
Activities
One of the best Aquariums! View all sorts of fish, sharks and sea creatures.
Check out the beach!
This one is definitely seasonal, but you can see whales just driving up the coast or hanging out at the beach. However, during the summer and if the weather permits, going on a guided tour will be a truly unique and awesome experience of breathtaking views of the Oregon Coast.
Local Breweries
Beer & sprites oh my! Rogue Ales headquarters are right on the river with a Sunset Lounge to taste their ales and craft cocktails. We took home some of their new CBD-infused seltzers.
Say hi the seals! This boardwalk is a fish market some days. You can find a variety of gift shops and restaurants.
Wine Tasting-Medford
Spanish Style wines known for their Tempranillo.
Wine Tasting-Ashland
Beautiful view and one-on-one spectacular service. Walked away with a bottle of the Cab Franc.
Great views of Ashland and Ashland Mountain and stellar customer service. Their Rose was divine!
Family owned and operated we very much enjoyed their red selection, especially their Petite Syrah.
