A provisional agreement was reached yesterday, July 21, for 10,000 members of the TC group. In addition to fair wage increases of 2.11% per year on average and improved working conditions, they benefit from a phoenix compensation scheme to compensate members for the painful suffering caused by the broken wage system. PSAC has drafted a document to explain the details of the compensation scheme as well as the extension of the damage process for costs and for those who have suffered greater losses due to Phoenix: PSAC has reached a preliminary agreement providing for a fair increase in wages, no concessions and improved working conditions for the nearly 10,000 members of the TC group. The PSAC negotiating team unanimously recommends ratification of the provisional agreement. The TC Bargaining Team unanimously recommends the adoption of this agreement. More information will be made available to TC members in the near future. The Memorandum of Understanding, which created the Task Force on Mental Health in the Workplace, is also included in this agreement. The Task Force`s mandate includes identifying ways to reduce and eliminate stigmatized stigma related to mental health issues, improving communications on mental health issues in the workplace, and implementing the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace. The parties agreed on the MoU earlier in the negotiation process, in 2015, and the Task Force has been working it ever since.
Most of our members are covered by agreements negotiated between the Board of Directors and our negotiator, the Public Utilities Alliance of Canada. The PSAC combines similar classification groups.
