Brunch Ya Know?: Sunday funday brunch in Pacific Beach

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I 100% agree. Brunch is the best meal: rich, savory, filling and  has the best cocktails! In Brunch Ya Know? I feature my favorite brunch spots in San Diego. Dig in & enjoy!

Sundays are for brunch dates with your girlfriends. I met up with Ms. Mimosa herself Ashley of Love & Mimosas. Our brunch roundup included eating at Backyard Kitchen & Tap and having a mimosa flight at Crushed

Backyard Kitchen & Tap

Sunday Brunch at Backyard Kitchen & Tap

I’ve been to Backyard Kitchen & Tap (formally Moondoggies) for an excellent happy hour so I had to try their brunch.  Backyard has a lovely patio (dog friendly) with a build your own Bloody Mary bar. The interior is more eclectic with rich wood and spacious booth seating for large parties. Backyard has a nice mix of trendy gastropub and a sports bar. If you’re a Broncos fan they have a breakfast shot called the Bucking Bronco.

I usually go for savory Eggs Benedict but this time I opted for a healthier option with their Breakfast Wrap: farm fresh eggs, cilantro, spinach tortilla, rosemary potato medley, applewood smoked bacon, pico de gallo, white cheddar, avocado spread & fresh fruit on the side. Washed it down with a (spicy!) Bloody Mary and a mimosa.

After brunch, we went to Crushed for their famous mimosa flight. Now this isn’t your average mimosa experience of champagne and a dash of O.J. Crushed mimosa flights are full-bodied in flavor with a variety of infusers including: Rosemary & Grapefruit, Passion Fruit, Pina Colada, Lavender Love, Elderflower in Bloom, The Pear Necessity and Apple Bottom Cider. My favorite was the Rosemary & Grapefruit…so refreshing! I can’t wait to go back and try more mimosas!
