#wcw You’ve seen the #wcw and thought what the heck does that mean? For those not social media savvy peeps it stands for Women Crush Wednesday. It it could be your mom, best friend, girlfriend,co worker, celebrity or overall woman you think rules the world and is in a simple definition at #badass. But what does this women, got that others don’t or aspire to be? She’s fierce, she has that fire to inspire kindness, create beauty, and make the world a better place. One Wednesday a month, I’m dedicating a #wcw post featuring one of those fabulous ladies out there. If you have a woman who has her own buesness, is a mommyentruepenure, craft or talent and think they would be great addition to this series, shoot me an email.
My #wcw this month is fashionsita and boutique owner, Jennifer Alexander Pribish of Laundry PB. Laundry PB offers both men’s and women’s clothes from stylish rompers to charming accessories. It has become one of my favorite places to shop! Read my interview below.
Natalie Neece: What is your background in fashion?
Jennifer Alexander Pribish: I can remember as far back to Preschool being interested in fashion. One day at preschool my mom sent me to school in an outfit I was not happy about. I cried most of the day until the teacher would let me go home (I lived next door) and change my clothes. Needless to say my love for fashion lasted and I was fortunate enough to go to the fashion institute of design & merchandising.
NN: What inspired you to open Laundry PB?
JAP: I have always dreamed of having a boutique of my own where the neighborhood and my friends could come shopping. A place that felt cozy, like a coffee house and you could also pick up a new outfit. I wanted to create a work environment for myself that was peaceful, a place I could raise my children and teach them about business and the proper way to treat customers because no matter what industry you are in, learning customer service skills early is a must. I’m forever grateful to my mother for teaching me this (amongst most the other things in my life!)
NN: What makes Laundry PB unique to other boutiques?
JAP: There are SO many different styles out there and many of the boutiques buy what the upcoming “trend”. Laundry is different because I select individual pieces that aren’t necessarily trendy, but will make my customer feel amazing. Pieces that fit a woman’s body and will go well with multiple outfits in her closet. My greatest strength is styling women in outfits that look great on them, just the way they are. Customers never leave feeling like they got pushed into a sell or later regret their buying choice.
NN: What is you must have item? Bralettes!
JAP: I LOVE the bralettes. They are one-size seamless with no underwire. They have removable pads and are incredibly comfortable. Most of my customers only wear bralettes after they’ve tried it as their underwire bras don’t stand a chance!
NN: What is your best piece of fashion advice?
JAP: Don’t try to change your body to fit into a certain type of clothing. Buy pieces that were made for you and your shape. Women’s clothing is very sophisticated. Is one style doesn’t work, try a different one that you are more comfortable in. This is where professional stylists come in and I’m always happy to spend the time with my customers to figure out their shape. Wear outfits that make you feel like a million bucks because they fit your body perfectly, not because it’s the latest trend.
