Greeting from Mexico!

Hola! Greetings from Mexico! Mexico is a great destination for a quick or long weekend getaway. Most San Diegans only stop in Rosarito but there is so much more than tacos and the surf!

One of my favorite trips this summer was about an hour South of the San Diego, C.A. border. I went with friends who had gone before so they knew exactly where to stay and visit in Valle de Guadalupe and Ensenada.

We stayed in an Air B & B in La Mison at Plaza Del Mar in a villa that looked over the Pacific Ocean. When we arrived it was over cast and we weren’t up much for the beach so ventured inland to Valle de Guadalupe. Here’s some of my favorites wineries and breweries we toured.

La Casa de Dona Lupe

This winery is deep in the Valle surrounded by all of the vineyards.

We enjoyed live music & refreshing sangria slushies. They have a unique gift shop with a variety of local jams and other assorted gifts.

Encuentro Guadalupe

This winery and hotel is a great stop with a modern architecture and breathtaking views of the Valle. We tried local brews here and soaked up the scenery. To stay in their exclusive pod hotel rooms built into the mountains, you much book months in advanced.

Cerveceria Media Petra

In Ensenada, we stopped for beers at this quint hole-in-the-wall. The swing was fun after a few brews!
